EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018 will be held in May, it’s 10th edition

Women’s EMPIRE Slovak Open being held in May 2018 will be again the biggest women's tennis event organized in Slovakia. From season 2013 it’s an official International Slovak tennis Championships played outdoors. This tournament is played for 9th time at EMPIRE Tennis club on number 11, Hajdoczyho street in Trnava.

This event brought to Trnava top players from the WTA Top 200 during the last 9 years. Tournaments funding from 2015 was increased to the current 100 000 USD which means it belongs to the biggest and most prestigious ITF events of the calendar.

We could see in Trnava in previous years such top ranked players as sisters Karolina and Kristyna Pliskova, Magdalena Rybarikova, Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, Katerina Siniakova, Veronica Cepede-Royg, Jana Cepelova, Daria Kasatkina, Barbora Strycova, Simona Halep, Klara Koukalova, Janette Husarova, Cagla Büyükakcay, Urszula Radwanska, Lesia Curenko, Yvonne Meusburger, Yanina Wickmayer, Sandra Zahlavova, Anastasija Sevastova, Michaella Krajicek, Shahar Peer, Karin Knapp, Lucie Hradecka, Denisa Allertova, Jovana Jaksic, Danka Kovinic or last year's winner Marketa Vondrousova.

Every year besides well-known players also young talents from Slovakia get their opportunity to participate. EMPIRE Slovak Open has won the hearts of not only players but also of all the fans that create great atmosphere throughout the whole tournament. Entry to the event is free!

Women’s EMPIRE Slovak Open 2017 as the biggest women's tennis event organized in Slovakia finished in TC EMPIRE Trnava on Sunday 21st of May with singles final. 17-years old Czech Marketa Vondrousova defeated 25-years old player from Paraguay Veronica Cepede Royg in straight sets 7-5, 7-6(3).
