EMPIRE Slovak Open 2017 in Trnava finished qualifying matches on Monday. MONIKA KILNAROVA and NICOLE MELICHAROVA also moved to the main draw. The Main Draw matches were also played, when MARKETA VONDROUSOVA overcame Slovak opponent TEREZA MIHALIKOVA easily in just 54 minutes 6:0, 6:1.

Many stopballs
"My game was not good today. But I'm glad I made it. My opponent played lots of slice balls and stopballs. It made me problems since I did not know her. She also had a lot of luck, played netrollers in almost every game. I don’t care whom I play in the first round, every next match will for sure be difficult," said Kilnarova who plays Yanina Wickmayer in the main draw first round.
Vondrousova winning easy
Duel between Markéta Vondroušová and Tereza Mihalíková was surprisingly fast and easy. Czech player won in 54 minutes 6:0, 6:1. "I thought it will be a difficult match since she played well on a junior level, when winning Australian Open - grandslam. At the end my opponent has improved, but I'm glad I made it. It's tough tournament, I will focus on every single match and I see how it's gonna end up," said Czech player.
Among the 1st round monday's winners belong also Heather Watson (GBR) and young Russian talented junior Anastasia Potapova, winner of Junior Wimbledon 2016
